This is my diary entry of Louis Pasteur, a bacteria scientist. I'm really proud of this piece of work because of the way I presented it and I put a lot of effort in. I presented this diary entry in a really old book. It even smelt old!! I hope you enjoy it;)

Dear Diary,
People these days think that germs were caused by evil spells and bad blood. To get all this out of the body, doctors put leeches on the patient's body and let them suck out the bad blood or they cut open the skull to let out all evil spells. But they were wrong and I was right, for today was the day I presented my findings of my experiment on bacteria to the Society of Sciences in a place called Lille in France. When I was in Lille I showed them how micro-organisms (bacteria) were the the things making the milk go sour. Writing that just gave me a thought, if I heated the milk so it was really hot it might just kill off bacteria and let the milk say good for longer.

Dear Diary,
Today would have been the day that nine year old Joseph Meister had died but luckily he was saved by I, Louis Pasteur. Poor Joseph had been bitten by a rabid dog 14 times and it was said that he would die that day, but on the last attempt to save him he was brought to me. I had been taught in chemistry and physics in which I used those skills for biology and medicine. The disease was thought to strike his central immune system, so he would get rabies then die. I believed that I had the right thing to heal him - a vaccine. Luckily I was right. How ever I did not want to experiment on a young child! It is mean. No one wants to have to have that kind of pain injected into them. I made a medicine that was made from different rabid animals. I only had one problem. I didn’t know how much to give him. ‘How hard could it be?’ I thought. But then I remembered ... If I gave him too much he could get paralyzed or even die… The only thing I could do was judge the amount of dosage by his height and weight.

Dear Diary,
Today is my 70th Birthday. I am reflecting back on my life and the future for further generations. I feel I have done some bad things in my life but some good as well. I am very grateful for my teachers as they have helped and inspired me with my love of learning. I have been criticised by many doctors including Dr. Robert Koch who didn’t like me because I don't have a proper medical licence. People have questioned my ethics and the way I have done my research. And yes, I have not always done things the right way but I'm proud of what I have achieved . Many lives have been saved and I am sure more to come. I have persuaded doctors to now wash their hands and clean their tools before work. Hospitals are now much cleaner places and vaccines will save the lives of many, I’m sure, in further generations.
