The book begins with August describing himself to the reader without giving too much away.  Wonder is a book about a boy with a facial deformity going through school…

Getting bullied… Facing relationship issues… then inspiring everyone with the challenges he overcomes.

The main characters’ are: August,Via His Sister, His Mum, His Dad,Summer,Jack,Julian and Charlotte. They are realistic and believable because they aren’t fantasy characters’ they don't have powers. They are realistic because the way the author uses them and describes them makes it feel like you're actually there and those people are real.

She writes using lots of emotive, descriptive language telling the inquisitive story.

The book is addictive, filled with emotional words and real life connections, I loved it.

R.J Palacio was born on July 13th, 1963 in New York City she is now 52. She lives in New York City with her Husband, two sons and two dogs. R.J Palacio got inspiration for “Wonder”from seeing a little girl in front of an ice cream store who looked like August from the book. And she wondered what it be like in her shoes going through life.
